The Beginning of Our Tradition of Service
In 1909, John E. Withers left the bitter cold winters of the North behind and settled his family in the warmer and more inviting climate of Miami. He brought with him two things that would serve him well: experience in transporting goods and a good sense of business.
In the early 1900’s, Miami was a new and a growing destination for tourists. It was also a city of opportunity for Withers. With one horse and wagon, he would meet arriving passengers at the train station and transport their luggage to the Royal Palm Hotel.
